SuperStrive Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
SuperStrive ("we," "our," or "us") provides tools for fitness, recovery, focus, and habit-building. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the SuperStrive app, website, and related services (the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to operate and improve the Service.
Information you provide
- account information, such as your email address or Sign in with Apple details;
- profile information, such as your goals, preferences, or settings;
- content you enter, such as workout notes, daily logs, and AI coach conversations;
- workout notes, daily logs, and AI coach conversations are not stored in SuperStrive cloud account storage. They are processed on your device where possible, and when you use AI features they may be sent to the AI service you configure or choose only to generate a response;
- messages you send to us for support or feedback.
Health and fitness data
- With your permission, SuperStrive may read health and fitness data such as activity, workouts, workout routes, heart and recovery signals, sleep, body measurements, nutrition, mindful sessions, and sport metrics through Apple Health / HealthKit.
- With your permission, SuperStrive may write user-initiated workouts, workout routes, training distance, and workout effort to Apple Health. Body measurements and blood oxygen records are read-only, and camera-counted repetitions are not mapped to an unrelated HealthKit type.
- Outdoor, route-template, weather-aware, and photo-matching features may access precise location with permission. Original HealthKit workout routes remain in Apple Health; user-saved SuperStrive route-template coordinates and optional photo location metadata may sync through private iCloud.
Camera-based movement detection
- With your permission, SuperStrive may use your device camera for real-time movement detection, posture analysis, and repetition counting.
- By default: processing happens locally on your device;
- we do not use camera data for identity recognition;
- we do not store raw video or image frames unless a feature clearly says otherwise and you choose to use it.
Microphone and voice input
- With your permission, SuperStrive may use microphone input for voice-related features, such as voice commands, workout logging, speech-to-text, or voice recognition.
- Voice recognition primarily supports voice input methods and voice communication with your AI coach. If you revoke this permission, you may still communicate with your AI coach by typing — functionality is not affected.
Live Activities and background location access
- With your permission, SuperStrive may use Live Activities and Background App Refresh to continuously access your location in the background while you are outdoor exercising.
- This helps track your route and progress even when you are using other apps or your screen is locked.
- Location data is primarily used for outdoor workout recording. You may revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Photos, notifications, and motion permissions
- If you choose a custom profile avatar, SuperStrive may read the selected image from your photo library and may sync the avatar with your account when you are signed in.
- With your permission, SuperStrive may send notifications for training reminders, wind-down prompts, AI insights, external workout reviews, and time-limited app access windows after movement.
- Motion & Fitness activity may be used to improve workout tracking and permission setup checks.
Focus boundaries and app control features
- With your permission, SuperStrive may use iOS Screen Time and related system capabilities to support features such as: time-limited access windows for selected everyday apps after movement; focus plans and time budgets; app restrictions or app locking that you choose to enable.
- We may process information such as app usage duration, budget status, restriction status, and the apps or categories you choose to manage.
- We do not read or collect the content inside those apps, such as messages, posts, webpages, images, or videos.
Device and diagnostic information
- We may collect limited technical information such as: device model; operating system version; app version; crash logs; performance and diagnostic data.
Product analytics and event data
- We may use PostHog or a similar product analytics service to understand limited, non-health-related product interactions, such as when a page is opened or a button is tapped.
- The analytics service assigns a random, app-scoped anonymous identifier and stores it on the device so events from the same app installation can be grouped across sessions. We do not send your SuperStrive or Supabase account identifier to the analytics service, call identity-linking APIs, or use this identifier to identify you across other apps or websites. A normal app update generally preserves this anonymous identifier; deleting and reinstalling the app, clearing its local data, or resetting analytics may create a new one.
- We do not send health or fitness values, readiness, sleep, HRV, heart rate, HealthKit synchronization data, health permission status, raw AI prompts or responses, route coordinates, specific app names, bundle identifiers, FamilyActivity tokens, raw camera frames, or content inside apps you manage for product analytics. Session replay and automatic screen or element capture are disabled.
- Product analytics is off unless you explicitly allow it on the onboarding permissions page or in Settings > Data & Devices > Product analytics. Declining or turning it off does not affect app features. You can withdraw your analytics consent at any time from the same setting.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide and maintain the Service;
- authenticate users and manage accounts;
- track workouts, activity, and progress;
- perform movement detection and repetition counting;
- provide AI coaching, summaries, and suggestions;
- support time-limited access to selected everyday apps after movement, focus controls, and app restriction features;
- understand feature usage and improve product design through limited analytics;
- improve reliability, performance, and security;
- respond to support requests;
- comply with legal obligations.
3. Local-First Design
Apple Health remains authoritative for HealthKit-supported workout facts and original workout routes. SuperStrive does not copy original HealthKit values or routes into CloudKit; reconstructable health caches, health-derived growth reviews, and AI conversation history/output remain on the device. When iCloud sync is enabled, app-specific records may sync through your private iCloud, including plans, points and Screen Time records, workout annotations, saved route-template coordinates, photo-link metadata with optional photo location, app-generated camera movement summaries, and user-entered workout feedback. Camera summaries and feedback are app-generated fitness/user content, not raw HealthKit samples or medical records; original photos remain in Photos/iCloud Photos. Product analytics never receives precise route coordinates.
4. AI Features and BYOK
SuperStrive may offer AI-powered features such as coaching, summaries, and planning assistance. Before the first AI request, the app explains that messages and selected workout, fitness, or health summaries will be transferred through SuperStrive's service to the relevant third-party AI provider and asks for your explicit permission. Closing or declining the setup sends no AI request. The built-in SuperStrive provider uses the SuperStrive service endpoint authenticated with your Supabase session. If you use a BYOK ("Bring Your Own Key") setup or configure a third-party AI provider, your prompts and related content may be sent to that provider. Those providers handle data under their own terms and privacy policies.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the Service, such as Apple platform services, Supabase, RevenueCat, product analytics providers, crash reporting and diagnostics providers, subscriptions and payments infrastructure, and AI services that you choose to connect or that are used by the SuperStrive AI service. We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar business transaction.
6. Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. In general:
- account information is kept while your account is active;
- diagnostic and product analytics information is kept for a limited period as needed for troubleshooting, product improvement, and security;
- local and iCloud data remain under your control and may be removed by deleting the app, clearing data, or disabling sync.
7. Your Choices
You can control many privacy-related features directly from your device and app settings. Depending on how you use SuperStrive, you may be able to:
- revoke access to HealthKit, camera, microphone, speech recognition, location, Motion & Fitness, Photos, or notifications in iOS Settings;
- manage Screen Time and app control permissions in system settings;
- turn off Product analytics in SuperStrive settings;
- disable iCloud sync;
- remove AI provider keys or disable AI features;
- request account deletion by contacting us.
8. Children's Privacy
SuperStrive is not directed to children below the minimum legal age in their jurisdiction. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child without proper authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
9. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on the infrastructure, service providers, or AI providers you choose to use. Where required, we take reasonable steps to protect personal information in connection with such transfers.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, on our website, or by other appropriate means.
